Chibai
Dear brothers and sisters of Mizoram,
Warm greetings to each one of you as we celebrate the blessed season of Christmas and prepare to welcome a new year filled with hope. Once again our gentle hills are echoing with carols and glowing with the spirit of togetherness.
As the winter breeze touches our hills and valleys, our towns and villages glow with the light of stars, lanterns, and the warmth of community.
Christmas in Mizoram is a time when families come together, when the spirit of ‘Tlawmngaihna’ shines brightest, and when faith, fellowship, and goodwill lift our hearts.
Christmas reminds us of the eternal message of hope given to the world through the birth of Jesus Christ.
As the Gospel of Luke tells us: "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill toward men."
Let us open our hearts even more and let us become channels of blessings for the poor, the lonely, the sick and the underprivileged amongst us. By sharing what we have - be it food, clothes, time or simply a warm smile - may we bring peace, love and harmony.
To the youth of Mizoram - your energy, talent, and dreams are the strength of our future. Let this season inspire you to build your skills, broaden your horizons, and contribute to a brighter Mizoram and a stronger India.
To our elders - your wisdom, prayers, and guidance continue to shape the moral foundation of our society. Christmas is a reminder to honour you, care for you, and uphold the values you have given us.
To every family - may your homes be filled with joy, harmony, and the reassuring presence of God's grace.
Let this be a time of forgiving old hurts and strengthening relationships, and reaching out to those in need.
As we step into the New Year, let us carry forward the spirit of unity and responsibility.
Let us continue to work for peace in our communities, for development in our state, and for the well being of every citizen.
May the year 2026 be a year of progress - A year where our youth find new opportunities, Our farmers and workers receive support, Our churches and community organisations guide us with compassion, And our beautiful land continues to thrive in peace.
As the bells of Christmas ring across our hills, may they remind us that even the smallest act of kindness can light up someone's life.
I extend my heartfelt wishes to every member of the Mizo community- wherever you are.
Let me also request you to ensure that our air quality which is the cleanest in the country remains so. Let us celebrate without causing ecological harm.
To our brothers and sisters in uniform, doctors, nurses and all who will be on duty while others celebrate, my salute and heartfelt gratitude. Your sacrifice makes our joy possible.
May the love of Christ surround you and may the coming year bring blessings to your families.
Mizoram mipui zawng zawngte Krismas leh Kumthar chibai vek u le.
