On the occasion of the 31st anniversary of the Mizoram Peace Accord, popularly called Remna Ni, His Excellency the Governor of Mizoram extends his warm greetings, felicitations and best wishes for a prosperous future to the people of Mizoram. The Governor urges the people to remember in great reverence those who laid down their lives for the cause of peace and harmony in Mizoram.
The Hon’ble Governor on this special occasion invites the people of Mizoram to utilize this peace and harmony to the fullest. He says that Mizoram has shown progress and has many achievements to its credit in the last 31 years after the Peace Accord was signed between Govt of India and Mizo National Front on 30th June 1986. The immediate dividend of this Agreement was conferment of Statehood on the Union Territory of Mizoram to become the 23rd State of India, on 20 February 1987.
The Governor of Mizoram also invites the youth of Mizoram to follow a healthy lifestyle and take active part in the ‘Healthy Mizoram Campaign’, abstaining from different vices such as abuse of drugs, alcohol and tobacco, as they are the future of the State. He further compliments the people of Mizoram for maintaining this hard-earned Peace in the State.
