24th March, 2025 : The Mizoram Adventure Festival 2025, organized by the Sports & Youth Services Department, took place from March 17th to 21st, 2025, bringing together 91 adventure enthusiasts from various registered adventure clubs. The festival aimed to promote adventure sports among Mizo youths, enhance physical and mental resilience, and equip them with essential survival skills for disasters and emergencies.
The festival was inaugurated on March 17th, 2025, at the State Adventure Training Centre (SATC), Vaipuanpho. Participants were divided into three groups and engaged in a series of thrilling adventure sports from March 18th to 20th, including rappelling at Reiek Peak, caving at Khuangchera Cave, trekking from Reiek to Ailawng, white-water rafting at Tlawng Sihhmui River, and the Army & High Rope Obstacle Course along with ziplining at SATC, Vaipuanpho. Adding to the excitement, a group competition on the Army & High Rope Obstacle Course was held on March 21st, 2025.
Participants stayed at SATC, Vaipuanpho, where they took part in interactive programs each evening, fostering camaraderie and team spirit. The festival concluded with a grand closing ceremony on March 21st, 2025, at the Reiek Tourist Resort Auditorium, with Pu Lalramsanga Sailo, IRS, Secretary of the Sports & Youth Services Department, as the Chief Guest.
The Mizoram Adventure Festival 2025 is funded by the North Eastern Council (NEC) and championed the theme "Choose Adventure, Choose Life." The Department proposed to make this festival an annual event involving other North east states.
