Mizoram CEO Shri SB Shashank, IAS, today held a lively interaction in his office chamber with the SVEEP (Systematic Voters Education & Electoral participation) ‘State Icon’ S.Malsawmtluanga, who is Mizoram’s most famous footballer. In the meeting, they both signed an ‘agreement’ to help and co-operate with each other in inspiring the people, especially first-time voters, to come out and exercise their votes in the coming state elections.

Also present at the meeting were Addl CEO & SVEEP Chairman Smt. Lalzarmawii, IAS, SVEEP Member Smt. Lallianpuii, MIS, Jt. Director I&PR and Asst. CEO Shri Malsawmzuala, MCS. Alongwith the SVEEP State Icon, the election officials discussed the importance of people’s maximum participation in order to hold successful polls on 28th November.

In Mizoram, SVEEP has played an active role since the state elections in 2013. Due to the successful implementation of SVEEP that year, voter turn out was exceptionally good, reaching a high percentage at 83.41%. Through SVEEP, all efforts are made to ensure polling by the young voters, the physically challenged, Service Voters as well as the elderly. This year too, the State Election officials expect that there will once again be a high turn out of voters all over the state due to SVEEP
