30.9.2020: The third day of the ongoing Destination North East 2020, a mega online event with the theme “Emerging Delightful Destinations”, held yesterday (29th September, 2020), witnessed the participation of the states of Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura.
Welcoming all to visit North East Region, Air Marshal, Shri A.K. Gogoi, Member NEC, said that existing within the diverse culture and landscape of India are tourism facilities par excellence. He mentioned that the emerging delightful destinations of North East States also has a lot to offer in terms of scenic beauty, peace and tranquility, cuisines and culture, music and folktales, trekking and hiking, etc which will leave every tourist enchanted and recharged.
Chief Minister of Mizoram Shri Zoramthanga thanked the Union Minister of Home Affairs, Union Minister of DoNER and NEC for showcasing the culture and heritage of North East Region and Mizoram. The Chief Minister informed about the beauty of Mizoram, its forest resources, species, medicinal plants, wildlife sanctuary etc. which would be a treasure for tourists to explore throughout the year. He also informed that the State of Mizoram, the country's happiest state, is the most peaceful state in India as well and is safe. hospitable and friendly for the tourists with no distinction. He also explained that the State of Mizoram has a lot to offer in terms of Culture, Bamboo furniture. eco-adventure tourism and is an international tourist hub. Explaining the different important steps taken by Government of Mizoram to promote tourism, he extended a warm welcome to everyone to visit the state.
Tourism Minister of Mizoram while thanking the Union Home Minister of India and Union Minister of DoNER for showcasing the Destination North East State extended warm welcome to all tourists to Mizoram.
The event saw the presentation of cultural mosaic, dances, places of tourist attractions, choirs, state icons, achievers and entrepreneurs of the participating states. Miss Mizoram extended welcome on behalf of her state Mizoram. Special messages were delivered by National Footballer, Shri Jeje Lalpekhlua and Indian Lady National Hockey Team member Ms. Lalremsiami as Icon/Achiever from the state of Mizoram. Introduction about Food Processing was given by Joseph L. Ralte, Handloom by Charlie and Fashion design by Susan Ralte. Cultural Dance & Music like Sarlamkai, Chailam, Cheraw, Khuallam and Folk Fusion Dance were also presented.
The program ended with vote of thanks by Smti. R. Lalrodingi, Adviser, BIT. NEC.
