Aizawl, the 7th February, 2025: Mizoram Governor Gen (Dr) Vijay Kumar Singh, PVSM, AVSM, YSM (Retd) today hosted a reception and felicitation ceremony for 58 Mizo NCC Cadets who participated in the Republic Day Camp (RDC) 2025 in New Delhi. The felicitation ceremony was held at the Circular Lawn, Raj Bhavan, which was also attended by Chief Minister Pu Lalduhoma and Sports & Youth Services Minister Pu Lalnghinglova Hmar, among others.
In his address, Governor Gen (Dr) Vijay Kumar Singh, PVSM, AVSM, YSM (Retd) highlighted the prestige of the Republic Day Camp (RDC) at the national level and commended the efforts, dedication and contributions of various NCC units in Mizoram. He reiterated that the NCC plays a crucial role in instilling discipline, leadership and patriotism among the youth. He further added that NCC not only trains young cadets in physical fitness and military skills but also prepares them for all round development.
The Governor, himself a former NCC cadet, shared his personal experiences and encouraged more Mizo youth to join NCC and excel in their future endeavours. He also praised the NCC Directorate NER (North Eastern Region) for their achievements, recognizing their contributions not only towards cadet training but also towards nation-building and community service.
During the event, Maj Gen Gagan Deep SM, Additional Director General (ADG) of NCC, NE Region, presented a report and expressed gratitude for the support provided to NCC cadets. The Governor and Chief Minister also presented awards to the participating NCC cadets, interacted with them on their experiences at the various national level camps, celebrating their achievements and inspiring future participation in NCC activities.
This year, 58 NCC cadets from Mizoram comprising of 45 cadets from 20 Mizo Bn. NCC Pipe Band, 2 cadets from 1 Mizo Bn. NCC, 1 cadet from 2 Mizo Bn. NCC, 3 cadets from Mizo Air (Flying) Squadron NCC, 1 cadet from 20 Mizo Bn. NCC who attended the Thal Sainik Camp and 6 cadets from 1 Mizo Air (Flying) Squadron NCC who attended the All India Vayu Sainik Camp, were successfully participated in the prestigious Republic Day Camp, 2025.
