The 7th Mizoram Legislative Assembly in its Fourth Session which is currently on, today unanimously passed a Private Member’s Resolution calling for an end to discrimination and violence against people from the North Eastern region. This perhaps may be the first such resolution passed by any state Legislative Assembly in the region.
The resolution introduced by Shri Lalruatkima, Opposition MLA in the House read ‘The House solemnly regrets the discrimination and violence against people from the North Eastern region in various parts of the country which has resulted in loss of some innocent lives in some cases and offers condolences to the aggrieved families.
