A State Level Workshop on Dairy Entrepreneurship Development Schemes (DEDS) and other Government Sponsored Schemes was organized by Mizoram Regional Office, Aizawl on 27th August 2018.

Shri.V.R.Nag DGM in his inaugural address indicated that the Government Sponsored Schemes were launched to encourage farmers and entrepreneurs to establish dairy farms for milk production, qualitative improvement in livestock production, etc.,that would also provide livelihood support for SF/MF farmers. He also highlighted the fund ulitization since inception. However, the desired achievement under the mission is not satisfactory and called upon the bankers &line Depts. to strategies their efforts to make the mission a success in Mizoram thereby enabling the doubling of farmers income by 2022.

Smt.H.Lalhmachhuani, Manager made a presentation on DEDS & other Government Sponsored Schemes on the eligible activities, subsidy pattern, procedure for submitting subsidy claims etc.

Shri Remliana, MD, MULCO indicated that there is vast scope of dairy development in the State which is milk deficit and emphasized that processing units should be encouraged. 

Shri RK Srivastava, General Manager/OIC, while concluding urged the banker and AH &Vety Dept. to popularize the scheme among beneficiaries as that allocated targets can be achieve.

The Workshop was attended by officials from SLBC, Commercial Banks, Mizoram State Apex Cooperative Bank (MCAB), Mizoram Rural Bank (MRB), Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Department, Government of Mizoram, RSETI, MD, Milk Union and beneficiaries under DEDS and NLM Schemes.
