Aizawl, the 30th May 2022: The representatives of Mizoram Wood Based Industries Owners Association (MWBIOA) met Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati at the Raj Bhavan, this morning. The MWBIOA representatives briefed the Governor about the difficulty they are facing in the exportation of their finished products outside the state. They sought the Governor's intervention and urged him to talk about the matter with the concerned Ministry of the central government.

The meeting commenced with a presentation by Pu C.Thanchuanga, President, MWBIOA & Prop, Ceeke Woodworks on the topic, “TRANSPORTATION OF TIMBER INCLUDING SAWN TIMBER OUTSIDE NORTH EAST - NECESSITY FOR ROAD TRANSPORT.”

After going through the presentation, Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati shared his appreciation of how a handful of business start-ups like the members of MWBIOA piloted the wood-based industries and tried their best to contribute to the state revenue. As for the request from MWBIOA, Governor advised them to submit their specific requests in detail. He also assured them that he would do his best to help them ease their problems and pursue the matter with the concerned Ministries.

Pu PH Rama, Secretary & Prop, Stephen Woodcraft, Pi Maggie Lalnunsangi, Treasurer & Prop, DCM Woodbased Industry and Pu Chalrosanga,Exe.Member & prop (RTP Wood Industry) were also present at the meeting of MWBIOA and Governor at the Raj Bhavan.
