Kolasib 5th November 2020: Members of the Mizoram Journalist Association, Kolasib District met Dr.H.Lalthlangliana, Deputy Commissioner today to discuss the situation of stranded vehicles, supply of essential commodities and law & order in the border.

The Deputy Commissioner stated that over 100 vehicles were stranded between Kolasib and Vairengte and that the drivers and handyman are being well taken care of. He also added that as long as this economic blockade lasted, the public must refrain from panic buying. The DC reminded the MJA members to promote awareness on the guidelines to prevent the spread of Covid-19, especially at the border areas. The DC also mentioned that three company of BSF will soon be deployed at Kolasib district along with CRPF personnel. Their stations will be treated as Covid-19 Quarantine Centers and all necessary Covid-19 tests will also be carried out within the premises.
