Home Secretary forwards Joint Resolution of Drivers' Union of two states to Joint Secretary (North East), MHA

Aizawl, the 5th November 2020 : The Home Secretary, Government of Mizoram today forwarded a Joint Resolution made by Silchar Truck Drivers' Association and Zoram Drivers' Union to the Joint Secretary (North East) Ministry of Home Affairs. In their joint appeal, the drivers' bodies requested the respective State Governments to make arrangements for escorting stranded vehicles by Central Armed Police Forces(CAPF) to and fro between Assam and Mizoram so that vehicles can reach their destinations safely.

The Home Secretary in her communication further noted that the Government of Mizoram will deploy CRPF to escort stranded vehicles from Mizoram upto the inter-state border provided that reciprocal measure is taken by the Assam Government simultaneously to escort all the stranded vehicles from Assam to Mizoram by CAPF upto the border including those vehicles at Mizoram House compound in Silchar.
