The MLA Cup 2019 Kolasib Constituency Inter Village Football Tournament was kicked off yesterday at Parish Hall, Venglai, Kolasib by Pu K Lalrinliana, Kolasib constituent MLA and Minister of State for Food, Civil Supplies & Consumers Affairs department.

Speaking on the occasion the Minister encouraged the players to make use of the football tournament as a platform to pave the way for more carriers in sports and to improved upon their capabilities and talents. The Minister urged the participating team to utilized the football tournament in building a good bond among all the villages within the constituency and maintain a spirit of healthy competition and brotherhood. The minister also pointed out that performance of the players in the MLA Cup 2019 will be a good criteria for the selection of players to represent the Kolasib Assembly Constituency in the upcoming first Mizoram State Games.

The tournament is organized by Kolasib District Football Association with teams participating from 16 Village Councils. The first match will commence on 19th November 2019 with 16 mens’ team and 6 womens’ team.
