Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) Special Secretary & Financial Adviser Pu Shambhu Singh visited Lawngtlai yesterday and inspected the sinking area of Lawngtlai-III and the Kaladan Multi-Modal Transit Transport Project (KMMTTP).

Pu Shambhu Singh arrived at Lawngtlai in the forenoon by helicopter and was received by Pu H. Biakzaua, MLA of Lawngtlai East Constituency and Pi Shashanka Ala, IAS, Deputy Commissioner Lawngtlai along with other officials at the helipad. As requested by the MLA, he visited the sinking area of Lawngtlai-III where the National Highway-54 was collapsed and impassable.

Afterwards, the Special Secretary inspected the ongoing construction of the KMMTTP road from AOC Veng upto the Myanmar border. He discussed with the officials and contractors matters pertaining to the landslide prone areas along the highway, the eight bridges to be constructed and the border bridge between India and Myanmar.

The Special Secretary was accompanied by DC Lawngtlai and PWD officials in his visit to the KMMTTP. He stayed the night at Lawngtlai and left today.
