Aizawl, the 23rd April 2020 :  mCOVID-19, the mobile application developed by the ICT Department to disseminate information about the pandemic recently integrated mPASS, an online application system in the mobile application to register vehicles transporting essential and non essential commodities, as well as applying online for permission for the transport of non essential commodities from outside Mizoram. In this connection, the Chief Secretary Pu Lalnunmawia Chuaungo and the stakeholders from various transporters' association were briefed about mPASS yesterday by officials of the ICT Department at Secretariat Conference Hall, MINECO.

The Chief Secretary lauded the efforts of the ICT Department and remarked that mPASS will help in strengthening the surveillance of vehicles carrying essential and non essential commodities and also help in contact tracing, if such a need arose.

mPASS will enable transporters to apply for permission online rather than the paper mode where physical submission of the form necessitated physical presence. It will also reduce physical contact at checkpoints
