Aizawl, the 10th October 2021 : A four-member Multi Disciplinary Covid-19 Study Team from central government reached Champhai yesterday, inspected various measures taken up at district level to contain the pandemic.

The team led by Dr. L. Ashananda Singh, Senior Regional Director, Regional Office for Health & Family Welfare (ROHFW), Imphal, consisting of  Dr. R.K Priyabarta Singh, Senior Regional Director, Imphal, Dr. Vinita Gupta, Consultant Epidemiologist, National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), Delhi and Dr. Varun Singh, Epidemiologist, NCDC Delhi visited Indo-Myanmar border village Zokhawthar and District Headquarters Champhai. Inspected key initiatives on Covid-19 response at district level and stressed on the necessity to conduct genomic sequencing at boder areas given its strategic importance.

 The team held a meeting with the Chief Medical Officer, Champhai, sought various steps taken up with regard to sample testing, laboratory, Covid care, man power,  hesitancy in testing and in contacts finding, status of home isolation, 3C, 4C, DCHC, vaccination, oxygen supply, issues on Covid Appropriate Behaviour and other notable points were also discussed at length with district health officials in order to contain the further spread of Covid pandemic.

Dr. Pachuau Lalmalsawma, State Nodal Officer, IDSP & Nodal Officer, Covid-19 who came along with the Central Team also inspected Covid-19 responses at Champhai.
Dr. R.Lianmawia, CMO Champhai and Dr. Lallawmkima DIPRO Champhai also accompanied the team from Champhai.

Multi Disciplinary Covid-19 Study Team reached Mizoram on October 5, interacted with State Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme (IDSP) officials as well as CMOs from Aizawl. They also held video conference with Chief Medical Officers of all districts across the State.
