NABARD, Mizoram Regional Office, Aizawl conducted the "State Level Pre-PLP Meet for the year 2011-12 at NABARD Conference Hall, Bawngkawn today.

Welcoming the representatives of line departments of the State Government, banks and Developmental Organisations/Agencies, Shri F.R.Marak, Deputy General Manager explained the importance of conducting Pre-PLP meeting before the preparation of District-wise Potential Linked Credit Plans (PLP) by NABARD. He also explained, in brief, methodology of preparation of  District-wise Potential Linked Credit Plans (PLP) every year by NABARD.

Dr. P.M.Ghole, General Manager/OIC, in his keynote address, stated that District-wise Potential Linked Credit Plans are prepared by NABARD every year projecting the potential for credit flow of different sectors/activities taking into account the infrastructure and other support services available/proposed to be made available for different sectors. Since institutional credit support has been playing a crucial role for balanced and equitable growth of different sectors across different regions besides providing employment opportunities in the rural areas, focussed and coordinated efforts by Government Departments, Banks, NGOs and other related organisations will facilitate optimum utilisation of potentials with the available resources.

A brief presentation on the variuos schemes of NABARD, State Government and Government of India was also made.

After the presentation, there were discussions on the achievements mede under various schemes by line departments/banks during the year 2009-2010. Perspective Plan for the year 2011-12. New/Innovative Projects, Revision/Fixation of unit costs for various investment activities in agriculture and allied sectors, latest scales of finance for estimating short term credit for production and marketing of crops.
