The North East NSS Festival, a five-day programme fostering unity and cultural exchange among the eight northeastern states, was held at the Art & Culture Center in Berawtlang, Mizoram from 2nd April to 6th April, 2024.

Hosted by the NSS Cell, Mizoram, the festival brought together 280 enthusiastic volunteers, along with 16 Programme Officers and 16 Officials, all eager to immerse themselves in the rich traditions and heritage of the region.

The closing ceremony was graced by Mr. Lalramsanga Sailo IRS, Secretary of Sports & Youth Services Department, Government of Mizoram, as the Chief Guest.

Throughout the festival, a diverse range of activities unfolded, including cultural performances, academic sessions, morning exercises, trekking adventures, and engaging workshops. Resource persons enlightened participants with insightful lectures on topics such as 'Personal Development and Communication Skills', 'First Aid', 'Benefits of Voluntary Blood Donation', and 'Mental Health'.

Each evening came alive with vibrant cultural showcases, where volunteers captivated audiences with the unique flavors of their respective states' cultures.

Highlighting the spirit of adventure, volunteers and Programme Officers embarked on an exhilarating trekking expedition at Reiek Tlang, Mizoram, on the fourth day, further cementing bonds of camaraderie and solidarity among participants.

The North East NSS Festival 2024 not only celebrated the diversity and richness of northeastern culture but also served as a platform for promoting harmony, brotherhood, and sisterhood among the states, fostering a sense of belonging and unity across the region.
