Aizawl SP holds meeting with Representatives of VDP units

Superintendent of Police, Aizawl District Pu Rahul Alwal held a meeting with Village Defence Party Unit leaders within Aizawl city. Police officers from Aizawl District Executive Force and 43 members from VDP units in Aizawl City were present in the meeting.

SP Aizawl Pu Rahul Alwal invited VDPs to cooperate with police and asked them to submit their monthly work reports to him. He said that based on the work/performance of VDPs, 'Best VDP of the Month' and 'Best VDP of the Year' will be awarded. SP Aizawl also distributed 30 torchlights to the VDP units.

VDP Unit leaders apprised the SP of their problems and also made suggestions on how to improve cooperation in the on-going fight against drugs and crime. In response, SP Aizawl assured them that more such meetings will be organized at SDPO and Police Station levels in the near future for better cooperation and monitoring.
