Dated Siaha 8th April, 2024: Dr. Nipun Vinayak (IAS) General Observer for  1- Mizoram Parliamentary Constituency- held a meeting with Siaha District Nodal Officers for the forthcoming General Election to Member of Parliament (LS) 2024 at the District Rural Resource Centre, Project Director Office. The meeting was chaired by Shri.V.L. Hruaizela Khiangte, Asst. Returning Officer for 39- Saiha and 40- Palak Assembly Segment who took an opportunity to welcome the General Observer and to introduce Nodal Officers to him.

At the outset, Dr. Nipun Vinayak thanked the District Election Officer and Nodal Officers for their valuable time for the meeting. He expressed that ensuring a free and fair election should be the first priorities for all the Nodal Officers. He added that  in order to conduct election as per the wishes and guidelines of the Election Commissiom of India , all the Nodal Officers should work deligently with  greater cooperation among themselves. Pointing out that some of the  Nodal Officers are to face election for the first time, he urged  them to take it as an opportunity to learn and as a personal challenge to perform in  their utmost capabilities.

Dr. Nipun Vinayak further expressed that 'there is no room for error'  in  the forthcoming election, he asked all the Nodal Officers to have full commitment to their work and to stand vigil at all times. Indicating that a single mistake could lead to greater difficulties, Dr. Nipun Vinayak informed the Nodal Officers to avoid unnecessary mistakes and to execute the election processes with highest responsibilities.

Shri.  V.L. Hruaizela Khiangte, Asst. Returning Officer for 39- Saiha and  40-Palak Assembly Segment gave a brief report  regrading the election preparedness of the District. He pointed out  that training for polling officials has been conducted by the District Master Trainers as per scheduled. That there are 81- polling stations of which 4 are   All Women Manage Polling Stations. He added that there are 2 EVM rooms and preparations are underway for Countimg Hall. He further reported that to ensure greater turnout for the poll day, SVEEP activities has been implemented in a big way.

Shri.  K.L. Vulmawia, Superintendent of Police, Siaha also highlighted the various security measures undertaken by the Police Department for ensuring peaceful conduct of elections. He further reported that a high level security has been provided for EVM strong rooms  nd similar measures will also be provided for Counting Hall. He added that detailed duty scheduled has been laidout for one company of Central Armed Police Force (CAPF).

At today's meeting, all the Nodal Officers also gave a thorough report of their work and various activities under their supervision. Soon after the meeting Dr. Nipun Vinayak paid a brief inspection of EVM strong room and the proposed Counting Hall.
