Aizawl the 4th June, 2026: The Provisional results of all candidates who appeared for the State Medical and Technical Entrance Examination (SMATEE) 2026, conducted by the Mizoram State Council for Technical Education (MSCTE) on 5th May, 2026 (Tuesday), are hereby published in order of merit, regardless of category. The results are also available on the website: https://dhte.mizoram.gov.in. Any complaint concerning the SMATEE 2026 provisional results and request for correction of candidates' credentials should be submitted to the Joint Director (Technical), Technical Wing, H&TE, Chaltlang, Aizawl, within one week from the date of publication. The final results will be released after addressing any complaint received.
The answer keys of SMATEE 2026 were published vide office order No.45011/2/2025-JDT(HTE)/132 dated Aizawl, the 7th May, 2026. They were made available on the office website and displayed on the notice boards of the Directorate of Higher & Technical Education and Technical Wing Office. During the challenge window from 7th May to 14th May, 2026, no challenges against the answer keys were received.
The order of merit list has been prepared with specific tie-break rules for cases where candidates achieve equal total marks (Clause 12 of Information Brochure). These rules are as follows:
(a) Candidates with higher marks in Biology (for PCB) or Mathematics (for PCM) will be ranked higher.
(b) If the marks in Biology (for PCB) or Mathematics (for PCM) are equal, the candidates' marks in Chemistry will be used to determine their rank.
(c) If the marks in both Biology (for PCB) or Mathematics (for PCM) and Chemistry remain equal, the candidates' marks in Physics will be considered to establish their rank.
(d) If the marks in Biology (for PCB) or Mathematics (for PCM), Chemistry, and Physics are still equal, preference will be given to the older candidates.
(e) If a resolution cannot be reached after applying the criteria in (a),(b),(c), and (d), the tied candidates will receive the same rank.
The OMR answer sheets for SMATEE 2026 have been graded by machine, and as a result, applications for re-evaluation or re-checking will not be entertained in accordance with the rule outlined in clause 9 of the Information Brochure. However, a provision is available to obtain a photocopy of the OMR answer sheets, subject to the conditions outlined in clause 11 of the Information Brochure. The date and time for online choice filling will be announced on the official website, https://dhte.mizoram.gov.in in due course.
