Lawngtlai, 4th  June 2026: The District Election Officer of Lawngtlai, Shri Donny Lalruatsanga, held a press briefing at his office chamber today at 2:00 PM regarding the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of Electoral Roll 2026.

During the meeting, Shri Donny Lalruatsanga informed that Booth Level Officers (BLOs) are currently distributing Enumeration Forms door-to-door throughout the district. For the three Assembly Constituencies in Lawngtlai District—36-Tuichawng (ST), 37-Lawngtlai West (ST), and 38-Lawngtlai East (ST)—Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) and Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs) have been appointed, and under their supervision, BLOs are carrying out the distribution of Enumeration Forms to every household.As of now, the distribution progress stands at 65% in Tuichawng Assembly Constituency, 77% in Lawngtlai West, and 62% in Lawngtlai East. He stated that the distribution of Enumeration Forms is scheduled to be completed by 28 June 2026.

The District Election Officer further stated that the ongoing Special Intensive Revision of Electoral Roll 2026 aims to prepare a fresh and updated Electoral Roll, ensuring that all eligible citizens are properly included. He emphasized that every effort is being made to ensure the accuracy and completeness of the Electoral Roll.Highlighting the importance of safeguarding the Electoral Roll from any possible inclusion of ineligible foreign nationals, he stressed the need for greater vigilance during the revision process. He also underscored the importance of cooperation from civil society organizations, churches, media personnel, and the people of Lawngtlai District, and appealed to all stakeholders to extend their full support to election officials in the successful conduct of SIR 2026.

The District Election Officer was accompanied by Shri David Lalrinawma, Electoral Registration Officer (ERO), and Shri Collin Hlycho, Election Officer.
