NYK Lawngtlai District organises Young Farmers' Seed Exhibition cum Sale

Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK) Lawngtlai District organised Young Farmers' Seed Exhibition cum Sale today at Areopagy, Lawngtlai.

Young farmers under NYK Lawngtlai District collected variety of vegetable seeds for their own growing, surplus from which were packed and deposited in the "Young Farmers' Seed Bank". These were exhibited today for the first time and sold at a very low price. The seeds exhibited today were more than 300 packs and 30 varieties.

The concept and initiative of Young Farmers was proposed and initiated by Pi Mercy Sellate, District Youth Coordinator, NYK Lawngtlai. It aims to address insufficiency of healthy organic food, malnutrition and unemployment in the District by motivating younger generation to be a part of healthy organic food producers and by extending possible help to young farmers in their career by providing knowledge and skills.
