Aizawl 15th December, 2021: Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK) Lawngtlai District organised a 'District Level Declamation Contest on Patriotism and Nation Building' today at DC's Conference Hall, Lawngtlai.
The programmme was graced as a Chief Guest by Pi TT Beikhaizi, Sub-Divisional Officer (Sadar), Lawngtlai. It was chaired by Pu Johny H. Malsawmsanga, NYV, NYK Lawngtlai. Pi Mercy Sellate, Deputy Director (OSD) & District Youth Officer, Lawngtlai gave an introductory speech. Two participants each from four blocks within Lawngtlai District contested with a theme of "Patriotism & Nation Building - Together We Grow, Together We Prosper, Together We Try, Together We Build a Strong and Inclusive India" in English.
Lalrempuia, Electric Veng, Lawngtlai Block won the first prize of Rs 5,000/- and citation. Vanlalchhuanga, Hmunnuam, Bungtlang 'S' Block got the second prize of Rs 2,000/- and citation and C. Lallawmzuali, AOC Veng, Lawngtlai Block won the third prize of Rs 1,000/- and citation.
The contest was organised as part of the Republic Day celebration, 2022. The district level winner will represent the District at the forthcoming state level contest, the winner of which will further represent the state in the national level contest.
In this function, prizes of Clean India - Cleanliness Competition organised by NYK Lawngtlai was also distributed to first prize winner Lawngtlai Council Veng, second prize winner Lawngtlai New Vengpui and third prize winner Lawngtlai-III.
