Vigilance Awareness Week, 2019 was observed today at DC's Conference Hall, Lawngtlai.

The function was chaired by Pi Shashanka Ala, IAS, Deputy Commissioner Lawngtlai who stressed on the importance of maintaining integrity in the office and also in every day's life and urged the officials to keep up their integrity and refrain from greed and corruption.

The function was attended by officials under state government and Lai Autonomous District Council (LADC). Pu Jerry Lalrinsanga, Inspector, Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), Vigilance Department carried out the vigilance awareness campaign talking on the theme of Vigilance Awareness Week, 2019, 'Integrity - A Way of Life' and how ACB deals with cases relating to the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988. Additional Superintendent of Police Pu C. Lalruatkima conducted the pledge taking and Election Officer Pu Lalremruata Sailo proposed a vote of thanks.

Vigilance Awareness Week is observed every year as per the direction of the Central Vigilance Commission during the week in which birthday of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel (31st October) falls. The Vigilance Awareness Week, 2019 is being observed from 28th October to 2nd November, 2019.
