Today, i.e Dt. 4.3.2024 (Thursday) @10:00 AM, a comprehensive training session was organized by the Superintendent of Police Aizawl. at the SP Aizawl Conference Hall on the topic of Beat System Policing, Maintenance of History sheets as outlined in the Mizoram Police manual and Use of Google sheets and Google Docs. The Training was attended by 45 Police personnel of Beat Officers and Officers-in-charge of Police Stations under the Aizawl District Executive Force.

Beat System of Policing is provided under Rule 622-625 of Mizoram Police Manual. Police Station area is divided to various beats for which beat officers are designated. Beat System is designed for strengthening relations with the community for more effective policing. Beat officers are directly responsible for Prevention and Detection of Crime and Maintenance of Law & Order within their beat. A beat Officer is also one of the most important links between police and the public.

Proper maintenance of History sheets is important for prevention and detection of crime as detailed records of Criminals are kept and they are under regular surveillance. History Sheets contain a short account of the life of the person to whom they relate and all facts likely to have a bearing on his criminal history. History Sheets are opened both for convicted as well as suspected habitual criminals.

Leverage of Digital tools such a:, Google Sheets, Google Docs and Excel for streamlined record management, collaborative data sharing and real time accessibility is important for enhanced efficiency and productivity in day-to-day operations of the Police.

Such training initiatives are integral to the ongoing efforts of the Aizawl Police to uphold Law & Order, protect citizens' rights, and promote a safer and more secure environment for all residents of Aizawl District. More such trainings sessions will be conducted in near future to make District Police efficient and smart.
