Champhai, 4th April 2024: General Observer for 1-Mizoram (ST) Parliamentary Constituency,  Dr. Nipun Vinayak, IAS, arrived in Champhai today to oversee the election preparations. He held a meeting with the Nodal Officers at DC's Conference Hall, Keifangtlang.

General Observer Dr. Nipun Vinayak appreciated the election preparedness. He advised the Nodal Officers to continue their efforts, work in harmony with their colleagues and pay attention to the external situation during the election environment. He emphasized on the need for strict adherence to election rules and regulations, especially in ensuring free and fair polling process and urged the Nodal Officers to be vigilant in addressing any concerns that may arise.

District Election Officer Pu James Lalrinchhana mentioned that elections are being held in a peaceful and fair manner in the district, he expressed confidence in conducting the elections smoothly and efficiently. On behalf of the district, he thanked the General Observer for his visit to Champhai District and wished him a fruitful stay.

The General Observer chaired a meeting at the DC's Conference Hall at 12:30 PM today, attended by the District Election Officer, SP, Deputy District Election Officer and Nodal Officers. Discussions revolved around election preparedness, security measures, and coordination efforts to ensure a successful election process. Nodal Officers gave brief reports on action taken and next course of action. The DEO presented the District Election Management Plan (DEMP) and Segment Profile to the General Observer.
