The outgoing Deputy Commissioner of Champhai District Dr. Naveen Aggarwal IAS yesterday invited the members of Champhai District Journalist Association at his Office to have a farewell meeting.

Speaking at the meeting the Deputy Commissioner expressed his deepest gratitude to the people of Champhai District for extending their support and co-operation during his stint as head of the District Administration. Mentioning different developmental works being implemented and the future plan for the progressive growth of the  District, he emphasized and elaborated the Shallow Tubewell Project for Paddy fields in order to harvesting  groundwater to facilitate double cropping, which in turn would benefit farmers enabling them to double their annual income by 2022, the vision of Prime Minister of India.  For the intial project NABARD has sanctioned rupees ten lakhs and also through CSR Oil India Limited had agreed to provide Ambulance for Ngopa RD Block, he added. The Deputy Commissioner also mentioned the recently conducted survey on Haemoglobin level test for adolescent girls as part of   anaemia prevention, he stressed the needs for immediate attention to prevent anaemia and said that immediate remedial actions will be taken as per the plan. He also applauded the unending supports from the media fraternity in propagating and inculcating awareness to the masses from their end.  

The MJA Members also appreciated various developmental works performed under his able guidance and expressed their hope that the unfinished and undergoing works would bear a fruitful outcome as visioned by the pioneers. Also at the meeting the Journalists highlighted prominent and remarkable achievements of Champhai District during the outgoing DC’s tenure like the District holding Best District under Poshaan Abhiyaan (National Nutrition Mission), Champhai Police Station adjusted as Best Police Station in North Eastern India, Best performance during Fire Prevention in the previous year, and the smooth and exemplary conducting of two elections namely; Mizoram Legislative Assembly Election-2018 and Member of Parliament-Lok Sabha Election-2019. The Journalists requested him to remember the district and spare his thoughts towards Champhai area which is a stronghold of entrepreneurs and witness the presence of plenty of  actively running registered Cooperative Societies from the State. 

Dr. Naveen Aggarwal took charge of  Deputy Commissioner Champhai on 7th July, 2018. He has been appointed as Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Mizoram. At yesterday’s meeting, the Deputy Commissioner Champhai was accaompanied by Addl DC Pu Alexander V.Chongthu and DIPRO Dr. Lallawmkima  while the MJA team was led  by District President Pu C.Lalhnunpuia.
