Mizoram States’ Sports Minister Shri Robert Romawia Royte felicitated 3 Mizo athletes who won gold medals at the recently concluded 13th South Asian Games 2019 in Nepal. The felicitation programme held at the Minister’s office chamber was chaired by Shri H.Lalengmawia, Secretary, Sports and Youth Services Department, Government of Mizoram.

Lalthlamuanpuia, Daniel Lalhumthanga and Lalfakzuala won gold medal in Taekwondo (Poomsae), Under 23 Category in team events. Lalthlamuanpuia also won bronze medal in an individual event. 

The Minister congratulated the athletes for winning laurels for Mizoram and India at the South Asian Games. Representing 1.3 billion Indians at the international level and winning gold medal is a proud moment not only for Mizoram but also for the nation as a whole, the Minister said. He encouraged them to remember that discipline, determination, dedication and devotion is the key to success and that complacency is the worst enemy for athletes.
