Aizawl the 22nd May, 2023 : Mizoram Rajya Sabha MP Pu K.Vanlalvena held a meeting with Lt.General Rajeev Chaudhury, VSM, the Director General of Boarder Roads Organisation (BRO) at the latter’s office chamber in New Delhi. The meeting primarily focused on discussing various road projects being undertaken by the BRO in Mizoram. These discussions aimed to address the progress, challenges, and potential solutions related to the ongoing road projects in the state.

The DoNER Ministry, through the North Eastern Council has approved a  fund allocation of Rs. 66 crores for the purpose of repairing and widening the road connectivity between Sangau and Saisihchhuah. However, despite the project being three years old, the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) has not initiated work till date. In light of this, the MP urged the Director General to expedite commencement of the project. The MP emphasized the urgency, stating that the Government of India may withdraw the allocated funds if progress is not made soon. In response, the Director General assured the MP that work will commence as soon as possible.
