In order to ensure peace and tranquillity within the premises of the Chief Minister’s Office and Bungalow, Zarkawt , the Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Aizawl has issued a prohibitory order yesterday. This order will remain in force for a period of 2(two) months unless it is revoked earlier from the date of issue.

The order reads -

“Assembly of 5 (five) or more persons in and around McDonald Hill, Zarkawt, from Zarkawt Traffic point in the south to Hrangbana College in the North including all approach roads leading to the Chief Minister’s Office and Bungalow, for any form of the public meeting or protest gathering including dharna, hunger strikes etc. is hereby prohibited”.

Nothing in this order shall apply to the exercise of functions by the Police,  functions organized by the Government or the local churches performing their normal worships or school and college activities.
