Aizawl, the 1st November 2023: Raj Bhavan Mizoram, under the intiative of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat hosted a celebration program of the Foundation Day of 8 States and 5 Union Territories of India at Circular Lawm, Raj Bhavan, this evening. Governor Dr Hari Babu Kambhampati graces the Occasion as the Chief Guest. Air Chief Marshal Vivek Ram Chaudhari, PVSM, AVSM, VM, ADC, Chief of the Air Staff of the Indian Air Force was the Guest of Honour.
1st November is celebrated across the country as the Foundation Days of the eight States of Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Tamil Nadu; and the five Union Territories of Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Chandigarh, Delhi, Lakshadweep and Puducherry.
In his opening note, Governor Dr Hari Babu Kambhampati conveyed his sincere greetings to all the people of the eight States and the five Union Territories. He continued with a brief appraisal with how these 8 States and 5 UTs were formed based on linguistic lines by act of the States Reorganisation Act of 1956 with the exception of Chhattisgarh and Puducherry.
He shared his appreciation of a number of cultural and student exchange programmes which have taken place under the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat programme. He further added, "This initiative has led to a wonderful confluence of cultures and traditions, and it has resulted in greater national integration". In his concluding address, Governor Dr Hari Babu Kambhampati made an appeal for continuing our solidarity march in harmony, as we aim to take our Nation to ever greater heights.
