Aizawl, the 25th August 2023: The state-level campaign of Meri Maati Mera Desh, which commenced on 9th August 2023 was concluded with an official program organized at the front yard of Mizoram New Secretariat Complex (MINECO) Building – I, this afternoon. Pu Lalruatkima, Minister, Rural Development, I&PR and LR&S graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.

Dr Renu Sharma, Chief Secretary chaired the program. The function commenced with plantings of the tree saplings by the Minister and the Chief Secretary at the fencing of the Secretariat Lawn. After the Chairman gave the welcome address, the Chief Guest hoisted the National Flag, followed by a rendition of the National Anthem. In this program, everyone participated in the pledge of Paanch Pran led by Dr Lalrozama, State Nodal Officer & Secretary, Sports and Youth Services Department. The four selected veers or representatives of the veers from four categories were also felicitated by the Chief Guest. In the concluding part of the program, the Chief Guest unveiled the Shilaphakalam and then proceeded to address the gatherings.

Pu Lalruatkima, Minister, the Chief Guest of the Program opened his address by paying rich tributes to the veers and reminded everyone that the sacrifices made by the Veers for our precious freedom will forever be remembered and that every Indian will always be indebted to our freedom fighters. On this occasion of the grand finale for the state-level celebration of Meri Maati, Mera Desh, the concluding program of the celebration of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, he urged every citizen of the state to rededicate themselves to try their level best in their own capacity to contribute for peace, prosperity, growth and development our country.

Dr Renu Sharma, Chief Secretary in her welcome address, briefly reported how the Meri Maati Mera Desh campaign was carried out across the state, from village, town, block and district level to the state level. She expressed her satisfaction in the execution of the program by the concerned officials and also thanked the civil society and the general public for their enthusiastic participation to make this campaign, a success one in Mizoram. She also proudly mentioned that Mizoram had done very well in the observation of the Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign, as well.
