DLCC (District Level Core Committee) on Reang (Bru) repatriation was held today at DC Conference Hall Mamit District with the chair presided by the Deputy Commissioner Dr Lalrozama IAS to ease out activities with respect to this 9th batch repatriation process a succesful exodus. 

Plans and arrangements made by stakeholders such as NGOs,  AO, VC,  Nodal Officers,  Security arrangement, availability of food grains, transportation vehicle for repatriated families, house site demarcation issues, and the like were discussed and made cleared for all the attendees. 

The repatriation is likely to commence from 3rd October from the nearest camp Kaskau thereafter to other camps in a phasewise manner.  Mamit Districts expects 3368 families who are supposedly to be resettled in 39 villages. The repatriation process also requires establishment of facilitation centres at Kanhmun a village bordering Tripura and also establishing three staging areas for the families who would need a night halt before reaching their resettlement village destiny. These staging location will be hosted by Zawlnuam, Kawrtethawveng villages and Luangpawl 4IR Bn HQ Camp. 

The meeting was also graced by his presence Dy. Secretary Home Deptt. Govt of Mizoram David H Lalthangliana who has experience insights in Reang (Bru) repatriation process.
