Aizawl 12th January, 2022: Representatives of the Central Warehousing Corporation (CWC), led by Regional Manager, Guwahati Pu Binay Chirania visited Lunglei District this week, and met with Deputy Commissioner of Lunglei District Pu Kulothungan and other District level officials.

The Central Warehousing Corporation (CWC) had recently sponsored 5 BaLA (Building as Learning Aid) Anganwadi Centres - Pukpui I, Pukpui II, Lungpuizawl Il, Bazar Veng III and Rahsi Veng I in the District through CSR funding of Rs. 6.50 lakhs. The team inspected these CSR interventions, and held talks with District officials to discuss plan of action for further CSR intervention in the District. Plans are underway to develop 25 more Anganwadi Centres in the District.

BaLA - Building as Learning Aid is about developing the physical spaces in schools - the classrooms, walls, floors, ceilings, corridors and the natural environment as learning resources for children. It incorporates the ideas of activity based learning, child friendly learning environments and inclusive settings for children with special needs. The BaLA Anganwadi CSR project for Lunglei District was jointly implemented by DC office, Social Welfare, ICDS, I&PR, Horticulture Departments.
