Restriction on use of Mobile phone inside the Polling Station and Counting Hall in the GE to AMC Election, 2026

Aizawl, 7th April, 2026 : The State Election Commission, Mizoram, taking all aspects into consideration, has ordered that the use of mobile phone by the Polling Officers, Candidates, Election agents, Polling agents, Voters etc., inside the polling station buildings shall not be allowed irrespective of whether it is kept in silent mode or otherwise in the General Election to Aizawl Municipal Corporation, 2026 scheduled to be held on 21st April, 2026. However, the Presiding Officers are allowed to carry mobile phone in silent mode in order to enable them to give Poll Day Report.

The Election Observers, District Municipal Election Officer, Assistant District Municipal Election Officer, Municipal Returning Officers and Asst. Municipal Returning Officers are allowed to carry mobile phone in silent mode inside the Counting Hall. Frisking shall be done at the Entry Point by security duty.
