Aizawl, the 12th July 2023: A review meeting on the implementation of various schemes under Rural Development and its sister departments for the past four years was held at Conference Hall, Woodland Hill, Zonuam in the capital today. Pu Lalruatkima, Minister of Rural Development Department graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.

In his inaugural address, the Minister lauded the performance of the officers and staff for all the achievements made during this period. He urged the officials to continue performing and rededicate themselves to the works to the upliftment of the rural population in the state. He cited the extraordinary achievement of having achieved 100 days works out of 100 under MNREGA and also mentioned the successful implementation of the Amrit Sarovar Mission among other achievements. He stressed the usefulness of having implemented the MNREGA works during the Covid19 pandemic to help out the rural population during that hard times. He also highlighted achievements in the implementation of PMAY(Grameen) and the achievements made by SIRD&PR and SAU.

He shared his appreciation for the dedication of the RD officials for the success they achieved. He said their achievements are being recognized by the monitoring officials and other states. He urged the officials to remain focused and open-minded to help out their stakeholders in the rural areas with assisting behavior and courtesy.

Pu R Zarzosanga, Commissioner & Secretary chaired the proceedings. In this review and brainstorming session, the Project Directors, DRDO, and BDOs were presenting PowerPoint presentations on various schemes. These presentations were followed up with Brainstorming. The program concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Pu R. Lalthazuala, Director, RDD.
