National Bank for Agriculture & Rural Development (NABARD), Mizoram Regional Office, Aizawl sanctioned the following projects under Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF) to Govt, of Mizoram in its Project Sanctioning Committee (PSC) Meeting held on 25 January 2010:
(1). Establishment of Dry Rendering Plant & Lairage at Modern Slaughter House, Aizawl. Out of the total project cost of Rs.295.28 lakh, NABARD has sanctioned loan assistance of Rs.250.71 lakh and the balance amount of Rs.44.57 lakh will be State Govt’s contribution. The project will be implemented by the Department of AH & Veterinary, Govt. of Mizoram and is expected to be completed by 31 March 2011.
(2). 5 (five) Rural Drinking Water projects, viz. Water supply to New Capital Complex, phase-II, Chhuarlung water supply scheme, improvement of Champhai water supply scheme and construction of rain water harvesting tanks at Khawlailung and Saitual. Of the total project cost of Rs.146.21 lakh, NABARD has sanctioned loan assistance of Rs.1031.24 lakh and the balance amount of Rs.114.97 lakh will be State Govt’s contribution. The project will be implemented by the PHED, Govt. of Mizoram and is expected to be completed by 31 March 2011.
(3). 13 (thirteen) Rural Roads & 2 (two) Rural Bridges projects in 4 districts, viz. Aizawl, Serchhip, Saiha and Lunglei. Of the total project cost of Rs.6878.09 lakh, NABARD has sancioncd loan assistance of Rs.6190.28 lakh and the balance amount of Rs.687.81 lakh will be State Govt’s contribution. The projects will help in construction of total road leng h of 182.45 Kms and two bridges of 0.85 Km length in the state. The project will help in connecting around 55 villages in different parts of Mizoram and thereby benefitting approximately 88,000 population. The projects will be implemented by the PWD, Govt. of Mizoram and is expected to be completed by 31 March 2012
