As there seems to be no likelihood of an early respite from the lockdown clamped on the whole country due to Covid-19, schools unfortunately have to remain shut past their opening dates for the new academic session. Mizoram's School Education Department has come up with an innovative arrangement to conduct home-schooling via television for children.
The home lessons will be telecast daily from Monday to Saturday on Doordarshan Kendra Aizawl. The daily half-hour lessons will begin from 13.4.2020 (Monday) at 3:05 P.M., with the first classes being on Class X Science and Mathematics subjects.
Students are to attend these classes on DDK Aizawl Channel, with their notebooks and pens in hand, as important portions they need to take down will be explained through these telecast lessons.
There is every possibilty of the lockdown being extended for as long as there is a threat from the novel coronavirus. Hence, the School Education Department instructs all students to give priority to their homeschooling and their parents must also monitor them during the programme.
