Aizawl; the 28th October,2021: District Level Task Force committee on Education, Siaha district held a meeting at DC Conference Room, to deliberate upon re-opening of schools amidst prevailing Covic-19 pandemic.

Shri.Kesavan R,IAS, Deputy Commissioner & Chairman DDMA presided over the meeting. The meeting, after thorough deliberation and by taking into account reports of Medical dept.and Education dept, resolved to re-open Schools for students of class 10 & 10+2 from 1st November,2021.

Officials of Education Dept. informed the meeting that out of 95 nos of covid-19 +ve teachers, 89 nos of teachers had recovered and 6 nos of teachers are currently undertaking treatment, and out 358 nos of +ve students, 356 nos of students had recovered and 2 students are currently undertaking treatment. Officials also stated that, presently there are 131 numbers of Primary Schools,77 nos of Middle Schools, 26 nos of High School and 7 nos of Higher Secondary Schools within Siaha district.

Officials of Medical Dept had also informed the meeting that, baring a few teachers, all had availed Covid vaccine and keeping in mind the prevailing positivity and recovery rate, they had opined that re-opening of Schools was viable for Class 10 & 10+2 students with strick adherence to SOP and CAB.

Today's meeting requested DEO office to ensure all the Schools abide by and adhere to Covid-19 SOP and CAB, and to submit their findings to the Committee after a month of observation, based on which, the committee will deliberate the eventual feasibility of re-opening of Middle Schools & Primary Schools.
