Aizawl the 18th February, 2025 : In exercise of the powers conferred under sub-section (7) of Section 3 of the Chakma Autonomous District.Council (Village Councils)-Act, 2002, the State. Election Commission, Mizoram hereby notify the list of documents that may be used as ID Proof for electors on Poll Day, as below:

LIST OF DOCUMENTS ACCEPTED AS ID PROOF

  1. Elector’s Photo Identity Card (EPIC), issued by ECI;
  2. Passport;
  3. Valid Driving Licence;
  4. (iv)    Income Tax Identity (PAN) Card;
  5. (v)     Service Identity Card issued by State/Central Government, Public Sector Undertakings, Local Bodies or Public Limited Company;
  6. (vi)    Passbook & Kisan Passbook issued by Public Sector Banks/Post Office for accounts opened till 11th March, 2025;
  7. (vii)   Property Documents i.e. Patta, Registered Deeds, etc. with photograph;
  8. (viii)  SC/ST/OBC Certificate and Residential Certificate issued by a competent authority (issued till 11-03-2025);
  9. (ix)    Pension Documents, i.e. Ex-servicemen’s Pension Book/Pension Payment Order, Ex- servicemen’s Widow/ Dependent Certificate, Old Age Pension Order, Widow Pension Order (issued till 11-03-2025);
  10. (x)     Freedom Fighter Identity Card;
  11. (xi)    Arms Licenses (issued till 11-03-2025);
  12. (xii)   Disability Certificate with photograph issued by a competent authority (issued till 11-03- 2025);
  13. (xiii)  MNREGA Job Card (issued till 11-03-2025);
  14. (xiv) Health Insurance Scheme Smart Card (issued till 11-03-2025);
  15. Student’s Identity Card issued by Head of Institution; 

The Polling Officials shall be held responsible in case(s) of casting of votes without production of these documents, voting by impersonation and any unfair or corrupt practice in the voting process that comes to the knowledge of this Commission.
