Aizawl the 13th July, 2024: Significant seizures of drugs were made yesterday by Mizoram Police at two location as under:
1). Yesterday on 12.7.2024, Khawzawl and Champhai District Police while conducting joint operation intercepted one Bolero MZ-06-1517 coming from Champhai towards Aizawl carrying a huge quantity Methamphetamine, driven and owned by Lalrintluanga (50) of Champhai Vengthlang.
The seized Methamphetamine weighs 115.55 Kgs (106 packets / 1,070,600 tablets) valued at Rs.32,11,80,000 at local market. Khawzawl PS Case No.40 dt 12.7.2024 u/s 22(c)/25 ND&PS Act was registered for further investigation to ascertain other linkages.
2). In another instance on 12.7.2024 yesterday, Zokhawthar PS Ops team acting on specific input recovered and seized 124 soaps cases of suspected heroin, weighing 1429 grams, valued Rs.42,87,000 from one vehicle (Venue Car) B/R No. MZ-01AA-9326 and from the illegal possession of Lalduhawmi (27) d/o Lalduhthara (L) of Dinthar veng, Champhai near Zokhawthar Play Ground. Zokhawthar PS Case No.61/2024 Dt.12.07.2024 U/s 21(c)/25 ND &PS Act was registered for further legal action and investigation of forward and backward linkages.
