A Sensitization Workshop was organized today by Mizoram State Tobacco Control Society (MSTCS) at DIET Hall, Chaltlang, Aizawl for the staffs and trainees of District Institute of Education and Training (DIET) and State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT). Indian Society on Tobacco and Health Mizoram Chapter (ISTH(M)) President Lal Riliani was the Chief Guest.

The Workshop was chaired by DIET Principal Lalsangpuii Sailo. Dr. Jane Ralte, State Focal Point, MSTCS presented a paper on the effects of Tobacco and Vanlalzari, District Coordinator North Mizoram MSTCS gave presentation on The Control of Tobacco Products Act (COTPA).

Speaking at the Workshop, Lal Riliani told the staffs and trainees in DIET that they are the builders of the lives of the students and as such they should guide their students towards "Good Health, For Life". The health of  Mizos have been ruined unnecessarily by Tobacco products and unfit diet, a healthy habit must be followed, she added. She invited the attendants to cooperate for the success of various acts made by the government for building a tobacco free environment.

The Workshop was well-attended by the staffs and trainees of  DIET, Chaltlang, Aizawl. At present, DIET, Chaltlang Aizawl has 1 Principal, 1 Vice Principal, 6 Sr. Lecturers, 19 Lecturers, 3 Instructors and 172 Trainees.
