Serchhip District Task Force Committee on Covid-19 held a meeting under the chairmanship of Dr. Lalzirmawia Chhangte, IAS, Deputy Commissioner to discuss various matters relating to Covid19 within the district.
Dr. Lalzirmawia Chhangte, IAS expressed his sincere thanks to the people of Serchhip District for their cooperation and their abiding to the law amidst the pandemic. He expressed his admiration to the efficiency of all stakeholders including officials. He clarified certain points in the just recently notified Lockdown Guidelines such as continued prohibition of religious gatherings and night curfew timings. He added that the state guidelines are more stringent in some areas than the Central guidelines. Besides the these the meeting also discussed other points in the guidelines and SOPs.
Reports from the Medical Team, the Police and status of quarantine reports were also discussed.Fines relating to Covid19 violations collected by Police Department amounted to Rs. 70,000. As on today, 290 stranded people who reached Serchhip have quarantined facilities with 79 of them being released after completing their period of quarantine.152 stranded labourers from other states have been sent back to their home states and another 530 are presently working in various constructions within the District.
