Siaha; the 25th May,2022: Shri Laima Chozah, State Election Commissioner, Mizoram State Election Commission, convened a review meeting on a recently concluded the 12th MADC General Election, at DC conference Room, here at Siaha, today.
Addressing the meeting, Shri Laima Chozah IAS (Rtd), State Election Commissioner said that his purpose of holding the review meeting is, to thank profusely District Election officer, Shri Lalsangliana,who were at the helm of the whole affairs of Election and all the election officials who made it possible to pull off a peaceful and free & fair Election to the 12th MADC General Election, and also wanted to know the problems and shortcomings faced by the District administration during the election and what suggestions they had from their election's experience for feedback to State Election Commission for better conduct of MADC Election in future.He happily informed the meeting that while no complaints against the district administration or election officials were lodged or heard, he received a lot of accolades and praises of District administration, this clearly shows your efficiency and fairness, and which made me really proud of you all, he added.
District Administration officials informed the Commissioner Shri Laima Chozah, about the exceptionally good co-operation they received from MADC and increased in vote polled percentage as compared to the previous Election.
Meeting also informed the Commissioner regarding their desires for dedicated Electoral Roll for MDC, rather than using MLA's E/Roll as Draft E/roll, which, the meeting believed, will ward off many problems and heartburns.
District Election officer, Shri Lalsangliana also spoke in the meeting, and thanked the Commissioner and SEC for their steadfast encouragement and support for successful conduct of the election, and also highlighted that the concerted efforts and unflinching support of Officials,NGOs, MPF and citizens of Siaha district that really brought forth a free & fair Election, to a recently concluded Election, he quipped.
