Aizawl 27th September, 2024: Shri. Om Birla, Hon'ble Lok Sabha Speaker, who is also CPA India Regional Chairperson inaugurated Archive Cell of the Mizoram Legislative Assembly Library today in the presence of the Shri. Lalduhoma, CM Mizoram, Shri. Harivansh Narayan Singh, Rajya Sabha Dy. Chairman, Shri. Lalbiakzama, Speaker Mizoram Legislative Assembly, Shri. Sharingain Longkumer, Speaker of Nagaland State Assembly and Chairman of CPA Indian Region, Zone III and Hon'ble Speakers and Dy. Speakers of CPA India Region Zone III Member States and other dignitaries.

The inaugurated Archive Cell of Mizoram Legislative Assembly Library is the outcome of the initiatives taken by the Hon'ble Speaker Shri. Lalbiakzama with a limited fund gathered from the office expenses of the State Assembly. The archive room will maintain important old documents and record proceedings from the times of Mizoram being a District Council and UT dating since 1972. 

The room is equipped with several amenities which will provide easy access to the documents for the member visitors.

Shri OM Birla, Hon'ble Lok Sabha Speaker arrived yesterday to attend the 21st Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) India Region, Zone III Annual Conference which have a theme: 'Fostering Legislative Sanctity'.

Hon'ble Speaker Lok Sabha was also accompanied by the Secretary General of Lok Sabha Shri. Utpal Kumar Singh and Secretary General of Rajya Sabha Shri. P. C Mody.
