District Level Task Force Committee on PMEGP sitting was held yesterday in the Office Chamber of DC Mamit in which Dr. Lalrozama, IAS, DLTFC Chairman presided over the Meeting to discuss and approve the projects and Loanees selected by the Screening Committee under Prime Minister Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP).

The Committee approved the 80 Loans seekers out of the 83 applicants under Mizoram Khadi & Village Industries Board (MKVIB). And also out of 60 applicants under District Industries Centre (DIC) Mamit 45 Loanees were accepted. A sum of Rs 322.60 lacs have been proposed under MKVIB Mamit and a sum of Rs 165 lacs under DIC Mamit which will be disbursed to the loanees through various Banks in the District.

The Committee proposed to put forward a rationalise method of Margin Money allocation to various Bank Branches in the District in proportion to the number of applicants received by the Bank Branch. It also stressed the need for awareness and confidence building measures amongst the Loanees to used the loans for their projects implementation only so that they do not fail in the repayment of the loan. The Committee severely objects any vicious intentions by the Loanees who applied loan only for the sake of Margin Money which is against the spirit of PMEGP Scheme.

The Meeting was attended by Director of RSETI, MRB Mamit Branch Manager, DIPRO Mamit, KVIB, DIC & DRDA Representatives, Village Council Chairman of Kawrthah S and W. Phaileng and Jt. VC Chairman of Mamit Town.
