Lunglei, 23rd June 2025: In a landmark event for South Mizoram, the 2 Mizo Battalion NCC, Lunglei, spearheaded a grand celebration of International Day of Yoga 2025 at C. Ṭhuamluaia Mual, Lunglei, aligning with the global theme "Yoga for One Earth, One Health".

Echoing the ancient Indian philosophy of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam — "The world is one family" — the celebration brought together individuals across age groups, roles, and ranks in a powerful expression of unity, health, and harmony.

This year’s event was historic in its scale and significance, witnessing the active participation of senior district officials including Deputy Commissioner Ms Navneet Mann, IAS; Superintendent of Police Mr J. Lalmuankima, MPS; DIPRO Mr C. Lalhruaitluanga, MIS; Lt. Col. Prashant Kakade (OC 166 TA Bn) and Col. Arun Sharma (OC ECHS Lunglei), who joined NCC cadets and the public on the yoga mat — exemplifying leadership through presence.

Undeterred by overcast skies and intermittent rain, a large number of NCC cadets, students, and citizens turned up with enthusiasm and discipline, showcasing the resilience, inclusivity and peace that yoga fosters.

The yoga session was led by Miss Gracy, certified trainer and founder of G21 Fitness Centre, whose vibrant instruction and commitment were highly appreciated. She was ably supported by her team, ensuring a smooth and energizing session for all.

Participating institutions included: Lunglei Government College, Govt J. Buana College, GHS Lunglei, GHSS Lunglei, Sacred Heart School, Venglai High School, 2nd MAP School Lunglei, Baptist HSS Serkawn, Adventist English School, KV Lunglei, EMRS Pukpui and JNV Pukpui.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Col. Sagar K. Mohanty, Commanding Officer, 2 Mizo Bn NCC, who expressed heartfelt appreciation to all dignitaries, schools, trainers, volunteers, and participants. Special recognition was given to Miss Gracy and her team for their exemplary contribution to the day’s success.

The celebration not only marked a successful observance of International Day of Yoga but also reflected a broader movement in Mizoram — championing fitness, youth leadership, and collective well-being through the unifying power of yoga.
