  • Dear friends

I am very happy to personally come and visit NIELIT Aizawl today. Although the Director had met me at the Raj Bhavan, I wanted to see for myself the works that you are doing at the campus.

Although NIELIT Aizawl has a history of only two decades or so, I am delighted to learn that tens of thousands of people have benefitted from this institute.

I am also happy to know that the NIELIT Extension Centre at Lunglei has been completed. This will offer opportunities to more people living in the remote and far flung areas of the State.

As we all know, we are now living in the digital age. Information technology and electronics has permeated every aspect of our lives.

Due to its immense importance, the Union Government led by Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji launched the Digital India campaign.

Hon’ble Prime Minister has now talked about our aim of becoming a Viksit Bharat by 2047.

In order to become a developed country, our population must be digitally literate.

Here, institutes such as NIELIT have important roles to play.

Digital technology has offered many solutions and innovations in today’s world.

It has impacted crucial sectors such as health, education, and agriculture.

Telemedicine has made it possible for remote areas to access quality healthcare.

The usefulness of IT and electronic devices for education was abundantly clear during the COVID pandemic.

Likewise, various advances in digital technology have afforded us with numerous advantages.

We must ensure that this digital revolution reaches all sections of the society, especially the disadvantaged and weaker groups.

As we speak about advancements in information technology, it is unfortunate that criminal activities using digital devices have also increased. In this regard, I am happy to learn that cyber security initiatives are being undertaken by NIELIT.

I understand that this institute is faced with certain constraints. In spite of these, I urge you to continue to give your best in the spirit of service and devotion.

I strongly believe that NIELIT Aizawl will continue to grow and be a blessing for the state as well as the nation.

I encourage all of you to play your part in our aim to achieve a Viksit Mizoram and a Viksit Bharat.

 Thank you.

Jai Hind.
