President and members of the Ephatha Society, Principal and staff of the Ephatha Special School, Invitees, participants, Dear parents, and my dear students.
I am very happy to join you today on the 9th Rising Day Celebration of the Ephatha Special School for the Deaf and the Hard of Hearing.
For nine years, this School has opened doors to learning and hope for our deaf and hard-of-hearing children. It has been a shining beacon in our community, showing what love and hard work can achieve.
Over these years, the Ephatha Society of Mizoram, many members of which are parents of the students, has built this unique institution. This is the only school of its kind in our state for children with hearing loss.
You have pooled your talents, resources and determination to ensure this school thrives. It is a remarkable achievement that speaks of your compassion and strength. I express my appreciation to the teachers and staff for your extraordinary service.
Every day you bring creativity, patience and kindness into the classroom. You teach not only lessons, but also confidence and joy.
I sincerely commend your honourable service for the welfare of our deaf and hard-of-hearing children. You have made learning accessible and inspiring. Through your dedication, you unlock the unique potential of every child you teach.
I also salute the parents of these wonderful students. Your journey has not been easy, and yet you have never given up hope. You have become your child’s strongest advocates.
Studies show that families play a crucial role in building independence, resilience and strength in special children. Your love and high expectations empower your children to overcome challenges and reach for their dreams. You are the bedrock on which your children’s future is built. Today’s celebration reminds us of a broader truth, that every child has a right to education.
In this day and age, inclusive education must remove all barriers to learning. The work we see here at Ephatha School embodies this ideal.
You are ensuring that our specially-abled children receive the same quality education and opportunities as any other children.
Let us remember the values that guide us – compassion, perseverance, and faith in every child’s potential.
Each child here is unique, with their own gifts and talents. We believe in them. We see their creativity and courage. Because of your support, they grow in confidence each day.
On this 9th Rising Day, let us once again dedicate ourselves to the future of these children.
We will continue to break down barriers and provide the support these children need. We must ensure that every person, despite disabilities, can live with dignity and respect.
Dear students, know that we are proud of you and believe in you. Dear parents and teachers, your perseverance and love nurtures lives.
Together, we celebrate how far we have come and look ahead with confidence. Let us keep rising together – in compassion, strength and hope.
I wish you all the very best in all your future endeavours.
