Pi Lalrinpuii, Hon’ble Minister, Health and Family Welfare, Dignitaries, Invitees, Dear Friends.

It is my pleasure to join you today on the occasion of World Homeopathy Day 2025.

This day is dedicated to the birth anniversary of Dr. Samuel Hahnemann, a physician, thinker and reformer who challenged the medical orthodoxy of his time and laid foundations for what would become one of the most enduring and practiced system of complementary medicine - Homeopathy.

This year’s theme is “Adhyayan, Adhyapan & Anusandhaan”. It translates to Learning, Teaching, and Research in Homeopathy, encapsulating the path forward for the growth and development of Homeopathy.

In the global scenario, Homeopathy though originating in Germany has been very popular complementary system in India.

Mizoram is blessed with deep-rooted traditional knowledge and understanding of medicine. The acceptance and popularity of Homeopathy in the state has been steadily increasing.

It is heartening to note that we have around 255 Homeopathy graduates in Mizoram, amongst whom 7 have attained post-graduate degrees.

The strength of any medical system lies in continuous learning. Homoeopathy, with its holistic approach, requires dedicated study and a thorough understanding of its principles.

As we see a growing interest in Homoeopathy among young students, I urge educational institutions and policymakers to ensure that learning opportunities in this field are made more accessible and robust.

To nurture skilled practitioners, effective teaching methodologies must be adopted. Our responsibility is to train and guide the next generation of Homeopaths with correct knowledge of classical principles, while also integrating modern advancements.

Teaching should focus on clinical expertise, practical applications, and research oriented thinking to ensure that Homoeopathy thrives as a reliable system of medicine.

For any medical system to gain global acceptance and credibility, research is key. The Government of India, through the Ministry of AYUSH and CCRH, has been actively promoting research in Homeopathy.

It is imperative that we too, in Mizoram, engage in scientific validation, clinical trials, and evidence-based studies to contribute to the larger repository of Homeopathic knowledge.

I encourage our practitioners and scholars to actively participate in research, collaborate with reputed institutions, and publish their findings to strengthen the scientific foundation of Homeopathy.

In recent years healthcare landscape has witnessed a paradigm shift- from disease centered model to Patient centered approach, from symptomatic treatment to individualised care.

This echos the core tenets of homeopathy. Homeopathy seeks to understand individual needs and treatment is tailored accordingly.

The global movement towards sustainable, low cost healthcare has placed renewed attention on complementary and alternative systems.

In India ‘AYUSH’ has institutionalised research, education and integration of homeopathy along with Ayurveda, Unani, Sidha and Yoga systems of healing.

I would also like to acknowledge and appreciate the dedicated work of the Clinical Research Unit (Homeopathy) at Civil Hospital Aizawl.

Their efforts in advancing research, conducting clinical trials, and promoting evidence-based Homeopathy are commendable.

Their work is playing a crucial role in integrating Homeopathy into the mainstream healthcare system of Mizoram.

In addition, I express my appreciation for the tireless efforts of the Directorate of AYUSH, Mizoram, in creating awareness about Homeopathy across the state.

Their commitment to the successful implementation of the National AYUSH Mission, AYUSH Oushadhi Gunvatta Evam Uttpadan Samvardhan Yojana (AOGUSY), and the State Medicinal Plants Board (SMPB), has significantly contributed to the development and promotion of Homeopathy in Mizoram.

The Government of Mizoram, in alignment with the vision of the Ministry of AYUSH, remains committed to the growth and integration of Homeopathy into mainstream healthcare.

It is our endeavour to ensure that Homeopathic services reach every corner of the state, providing affordable and effective complementary healthcare solutions to the people of Mizoram.

To all the Homeopaths in Mizoram, especially those with Post- graduate Degrees, I urge you to take the lead with confidence and dedication.

Engage with communities, create awareness about the benefits, explain how this system addressed the root causes and am sure you all can bring in greater amount of effective healthcare.

On this World Homeopathy Day, let us embrace homeopathy as a complementary system as we would with any medical tradition - not only through lens of belief but through tools of science, philosophy and ethical enquiry.

The future of Homeopathy will be determined not by rhetoric but by research.

Let us honour the legacy of Dr. Samuel Hahnemann by looking into the future with open minds, disciplined inquiry and an unwavering commitment to the well being of patients.

Once again, I extend my congratulations to all Homeopaths, scholars and students present here today.

May this day inspire us all to work towards the advancement of Homeopathy for a healthier and better future.

Ka lawm e.

Jai Hind!
